Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Better Writer ("the App"), a daily reading and writing habit app. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Better Writer provides a daily cycle of AI-curated readings and writing prompts designed to build a consistent writing habit. The App generates personalized content based on your interests and tracks your progress over time.
2. Your Account
Your account is tied to a random device identifier stored in your iOS Keychain. There is no email or password. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device. If you lose access to your device and its Keychain data, your account cannot be recovered.
3. Your Content
You retain full ownership of everything you write in the App. By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:
- Store your writing on our servers
- Process your writing with AI services to personalize your experience (e.g., extracting interests and preferences to tailor future readings and prompts)
- Transmit your writing between your device and our servers for sync purposes
We will not publish, sell, or publicly display your writing. This license exists solely to operate the service.
4. AI-Generated Content
Readings and writing prompts in the App are generated by artificial intelligence. This content:
- Is provided for educational and creative purposes only
- Is not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice
- May contain inaccuracies, errors, or biases
- May reference third-party articles and sources
You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional advice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Use automated tools to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
6. Intellectual Property
The App's design, branding, code, and AI-generated content (excluding your writing) are the property of Anthony Cueva or their respective licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without permission.
7. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANTHONY CUEVA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. You may also request deletion of your data by emailing hi@cueva.io.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App at any time, for any reason, without notice.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
